I'm Pro-BJD Artists Only

A lot has happened in the past few days on the topic of counterfeit/recasts BJDS and a individual named Luo who has a vindictive agenda to cause serious damage to small and larger BJD artists alike. He is a large Chinese recaster and has registered several companies's trademarks (even their logos) in China and is attempting to do so in Europe and U.S.A. I believe the current list is up to 85+ that he is trying to register. This would give him the power to blackmail the original artists and claim their work as his own. I'm not great at explaining all of this, but  I found out this information from @Puffypuffers and @f15dolls (both on Instagram).

I will also link Musume.Desu blog post which does a wonderfully job summarizing and compiling all of the information gathered together so far.

So in light of this, I feel I need to be 100% clear on my stance. I also wanted to post this to my blog as well since I've stated this on my Instagram and Flickr.

I have always been pro-artist in this hobby and always will be. Also as a artist myself it would be a huge contradiction if I supported counterfeit/recasted dolls. And even if I wasn't an artists, this is wrong. I have listened both sides of this issue for several years and it hasn't gone anywhere. There is no debate. It's art thief no matter how you slice it. I'm very concerned for the future of this hobby and the artists. Their work and livelihoods are being ruined and it deeply hurts me to see other creatives go through this.

I also can no longer act neutral because without realizing or meaning to I myself was passively supporting this behavior. I'm done silencing my voice out of fear of confrontation or feeling I have to avoid the hobby until whatever the latest drama is calms down. Enough is enough and I don't want that around me. Anyone who doesn't like me voicing my opinions can unfollow/block me as well.

And let me be clear that I'm not about witch hunting or bullying, I never have nor will I ever condone that type of behavior. It also isn't worth my time or energy to play police. But if I see someone is being belligerent supporting counterfeit/recasts then I will block them.

If someone chooses to go legit or currently in the process, I'm more then happy to help point them in the right direction. There are a lot of people in this hobby that will help you navigate how to go legit. And there are a lot of legit companies that offer cheaper options and layaways for dolls. So I hope many of you out there will consider going legit and supporting our artists. I also hope that those that are counterfeit/recast neutral will reconsider their stance.

Last note! I made this simple graphic for my own BJD account but I had several people asked if they could share the image which I wasn't expecting several people to repost it. So I've gone ahead and tweaked the graphic a bit which anyone is welcome to use. Credit isn't necessary, but if you do thank you in advance!
